How to Enable XML Sitemaps in SEOPress
To enable XML sitemaps for your website:
- Navigate to SEO > XML – HTML Sitemap.
- Toggle the iOS switch to activate the feature.
- Select Enable XML Sitemap and click Save changes.
You can inspect your XML sitemaps in two ways:
- Click on the View your sitemap button from the XML – HTML sitemap page.
- Type
https://example.com/sitemaps.xml/directly into your browser's address bar.
Reminder: We've set up automatic redirects for prevalent XML sitemaps URLs such as:
https://example.com/sitemap.xml/https://example.com/wp-sitemap.xml/https://example.com/sitemap_index.xml/
Configuring Your XML Sitemap
By default, your XML Sitemap will encompass your posts, pages, products, post categories, and post tags (when available).
- Go to the Post Types and Taxonomies tabs.
- Select the desired items to be included in your sitemap.
- Click save and then preview your sitemap to see the modifications.
In some instances, you might need to refresh your permalinks for changes to take effect.
